Raine took a sip of their coffee, before they continued.

"I understand being wary of Nia because she's an Avatar, but.. Something about, maybe the power structure made her that way. It wasn't a conscious choice. What's not to say the same thing doesn't happen to them? Only this time, there's not enough people around to notice, or help, or.."

They furrowed their eyebrows- not in frustration, but in a rather serious fashion.

"When I was home, I made the mistake of not including people that could've helped me because I thought I was protecting her-"

Whoops. Raine found it best not to get into details of the trials and tribulations of how they reunited with Eda, but they still had a point to make.
