Raine wrenched their arm back a little too quickly. They hadn't noticed Mercy originally, too lost in thought and sleep deprived.

"Uhm- I- Sorry," they stammered, and tried to smooth out their messy hair and disheveled clothing. "I'm, um, I'm fine. Just, ah, tired."

They tried to put on their most convincing smile. Needless to say, it probably isn't overly convincing.
