Eda swallows and looks away. She's been doing her best to believe that they're not going to fail, that no one is going to die--that the vision Raine saw in the graveyard was just something trying to scare them. She can't argue any of their points, but thinking about it certainly isn't helping her mood.
"Raine's... right," she finally says. "Maybe people die anyway. But maybe more people would have died if you didn't try."
She pauses again, for a moment, before deciding to try a slightly different tactic.
"You've helped us so much already--with being able to live here. We need you here, doing the stuff you're good at. Maybe it doesn't... feel like it, if you're not out there yourself, but--having you to help us get by in this place means the people who can survive Dogtown, who can fight these things? We've got more chance to do that."
