There's a blink at Hickey's suggestion - they may have spoken a time or two, but certainly not nearly as much as Emet-Selch would have expected to be enough to prompt such an offer - but all things considered it's not something he feels like it's worth his while to turn down. Not when there are still any number of unknown matters at hand, and there's truth enough to the fact that having two people to watch for any disturbances is better than simply one.
