One great thing about being a robot: Cortana might not be able to go forever, but she can keep going at her maximum until her body fails because there aren't any built in safety features that force her to stop.
So yeah, she'll keep running, and running...
She doesn't trust that she's free from Hickey, and she keeps up the pace even as her systems begin to send warnings about insufficient coolant and heat buildup. She'll run until the heat causes her muscles to go into uncontrollable spasms if she has to, and she almost does except a sudden tiny battle cry brings a rushing swarm of new smaller creatures to attack her. She stumbles and goes down, swearing all the way.
If Hickey is still chasing her it might be better to just stop and write this one off, lest he also fall victim to the dangers of dogtown.
(Of course, Cortana will fight her way back to her feet and escape in the end, but for now it really does look like she's a goner.)
