The kick hits and Hickey rolls off of John for a moment. He's still drunk on the power, drunk on the feel of it as he scrambles back to his feet. He backs up a bit...mostly so he can start trying to chase John.

After all, what matters most is that the prey feels fear. That he's able to scare them.
