Jeff doesn't totally follow all the words he's using, his own experience with videogames best described as casual and mostly relegated to button mashing or falling off of platforms. But the concept makes sense, the reasoning behind it.
Loneliness, though... Jeff never had much experience with that, not until recently. God, his whole life, he's always been surrounded by people. A full house, a sea of acquaintances, rapturous crowds, local groupies, and that small, tight circle of people who've managed to get close.
(And failing all that: a voice in his head.)
Even at his most alienated, he was never really lonely. Until now. He glances away for a moment, his expression going a bit gloomy, before he makes an effort to swallow it back and put on a happy face.
"That's cool. It's like, kind of noble, right?" Helping others, teamwork, all the values his parents always tried to instill in him. Wryly, he adds, "I just sing until flashy stuff happens." Typical bard.
