"Mostly? Help other people be better at whatever it is they do. Protective spells, buffs, debuffs on enemies, negative status negation. I picked it as my class because it meant I couldn't just hare off on my own and take everything solo. It gave me a reason to try to learn to work with other players."

He chuckles quietly.

"I was pretty lonely in the real world. So picking a class that needed to work with others, it was a hopeful thing, for me. But being a support caster also gave me room to be a strategist; I could have a good sense of the whole battle around me. At my peak, I could track both my party's and the enemy's health and mana points down to one percent, up to thirty seconds ahead."
