Pyre's smile falters as he fusses with his hands, stretching and flecking the fingers. Is that skin too smooth and shiny? Is that the shape of bone Jaeger can still see? Or is it just a trick of the light?

He sags in on himself a little, like gravity is weighing on him just a little heavier. Pyre seems disappointed with Jaeger's reaction, and more than a little stymied by it. He has to search for words, not really having expected the conversation to continue.

"He told me about someone who could do something like that and I, uh, kind of worked it out from there," he says, the sinister glint in his eye gone and all the awkwardness returned full force.
