February Cybersecurity Class
Who: Cortana and OTA
When: Not quite mid feb
Where: Cybersecurity class
Summary: A mingle for newbies (and oldbies should they wish) being made to take the mandatory cybersecurity classes being taught by Cortana.
Warnings: Probably nothing big, but will warn in thread if necessary.
On the one hand, it's highly unlikely that anyone likes being forced to go to a class of any sort. On the other, ADI's cybersecurity class is being taught by a real bonafide (sexy) gynoid robot, so that's probably pretty cool.
There are also some ...interesting rumors about Cortana that characters may or may not have heard, such as her wandering around naked sometimes and her having the most ridiculously awesome war stories, but sadly the woman teaching the class might be a cool robot but she's very much clothed (green sweater vest over white blouse with blue jeans and simple black boots) and doesn't seem to be telling any war stories today, though she will occasionally comment about being a military AI.
As for what is going on in cybersecurity class, well...
A) The disgruntled muttering and slow loss of interest from some students suggests that at least a few people were really looking forward to those rumors being true? Perhaps you're one of them? Or maybe not? Are you curious about what these people are going on about? Or maybe you just wish they'd shut up?
B) It's time for the best part of class! And by best I mean not actually the best at all, because it's time for group activities! Nevermind that everyone around you is likely a total stranger, potentially of a different world, time period, or even species, find someone to pair up with and play the password guessing game!
Each pair will take turns with one person using the principles taught during class to come up with a (hopefully secure) password and the other person is allowed to ask up to 10 questions to try and guess the password. Fun, right?
If one of you ends up without a partner, don't worry: Cortana herself will happily play against anyone unlucky enough to be the odd one out. Just be careful, she's very clever and not particularly inclined to just let anyone win...
C) Oh no! You've shown some good progress with your own learning (or you already know this stuff, ADI makes everyone take this class regardless of actual knowledge) and thus you've now been tasked with helping a fellow student who isn't doing so well! Do you help? Refuse? Argue with the teacher?
Or alternately, you're the one who's found yourself in the awkward position of needing assistance, whether it be from the teacher or another student...
D) There's definitely a lot more going on in this class than just the things mentioned in these prompts. Lessons on basic phone functions, explanations of how bank accounts work in this day and age (yes, really, there are people who don't know this) and how to access yours online (she'll even walk you through downloading the bank app), a basic discussion of common scams and how not to fall for them... and of course, that little bit of time she gives at the end of each part of the lecture and at the end of the class as a whole for everyone to ask questions. You're free to do stuff for any of these, TBH.

Cortana | OTA
She'll be here the whole class, lecturing, answering questions, and assisting anyone who might happen to need it. If you want her for something, feel free to hit her up here!

And certainly not any untoward rumors about the teacher. Military AI? Interesting. Sexy naked robot possibilities? Completely indifferent.
One might presume he has had some time to settle in but more importantly, receive a change of clothing, for robes and masks are certainly not twenty-first century American. He wears a white button-down shirt, black slacks and black loafers. If it weren't for the odd glow to his blue irises, he'd probably look like a normal human man with dyed hair.
I. Say My
NamePasswordIt will become reasonably clear very quickly, when Elidibus engages in the game of 'Guess the Password', that he is very good at making a password. Namely because he made full use of the available string, used a series of all available characters in non-sequential order and gave each of his accounts a different set.
Needless to say the game was given its own unique password, since he wasn't going to be so foolish as to admit what his others are. So good luck guessing. Though it's probably not entirely impossible.
But he isn't a computer and certainly not an AI. So while he can be very good at making a password and good at getting near or close to many with his questions of an opponent, it isn't like he's flawless. The nuances of mortal society, much less pop culture from completely different worlds, is hardly going to be easy for him to guess.
Though he can at the very least point out that if he had known more, he might have been able to narrow down passwords further.
"If you draw from this star's common knowledge, it will only be a matter of time before an experienced user of this technology will be able to access your information," he may mention. There is nothing condescending about his words. It is advice only. "You must weigh whether the benefit to your memory is more than the level of risk."
II. Mentoring.... Cyber Heroes?
Elidibus doesn't argue when he's asked to help others. It benefits him- both to show his seeming willingness to tow the party line and to learn more about others- and it's ultimately something he's done for countless thousands of years. Guided, mentored and advised.
Having seen the rise and fall of countless civilizations, some of which seemed far more advanced than this one in many ways, he showed no signs of fumbling with the lessons being taught or amazed by the seamless, pocket-sized touchscreen of the smart phone or any computers used in the lessons of the day. The interface needed a bit of adjusting to but other than that, he absorbed the lessons with ease and had at least a basic perspective on how to teach others not as familiar.
"Are you having any trouble thus far?" Elidibus doesn't linger over any one struggling person, willing to move on while one experiments with his explanation and approach another that might seem confused. Or inactive.
III. Anything Else?
Wildcard? After class mingle? Feel free to write in a post or PM me!

"How about I play this round?" She'll interrupt in between games, flashing Elidibus a grin before taking a seat. "Elidibus, was it?"

It's a perfect expression for a diplomat.
"Yes. And you are Cortana. It is a pleasure to be able to speak with you directly." Though the game may come first in this case.
"You may begin if you wish."

"How about you try guessing mine, hmm?"
