Normally the idea of being afraid of Raine--of them, like they might actually hurt her--not just afraid they were lying to her or doing something stupid... normally that would be ridiculous.
When they'd fought in the alley, back at the parade, even when they had hurt her she'd been more worried for them than anything else. Normally the glowing eyes and a little stray bard magic would be nothing. But there was enough of the nightmare lingering in her mind that she couldn't stop herself from flinching when they grabbed her wrist.
There was a little pause as they hugged her, too, breath catching in her throat at the feeling of being constricted again, when she could still practically taste the cobwebs filling her mouth as she tried to scream--
But it was Raine and they were upset and they needed her. She wrapped her arms around them and squeezed, hard, in a way that always used to ground them when they were kids. Only now she could fold her wings around them, too, for good measure.
"I know. I know. I was there. It's--it's okay now. It's just a nightmare. It's just this place." She did her best not to sound like she was trying to reassure both of them.
