In Eda's peripheries where Raine's eyes tried to meet hers she'd see the emerald of their eyes start to dull and roll over to black, passing over the white's of their eyes into a full darkened sclera.
"We can't win, Eda. No matter what we do. You'll just get hurt as well."
Their voice chattered in their throat as the corners of their mouth began to split. Revealing folding out skin into mandibles as little divots by their eyes began to open into smaller ones, three more on each side making a total of eight. The spider-like features continued to grow and morph on their body.
"I can't let you do that."
Their voice warped as horrific cracking sounds filled the air, spidery appendages bursting out of their back and sides, lifting them up as they flourished their hands slowly. Weaving webs out of thin air to form a violin and bow. Before Eda could do anything else they played a note but the music was wrong.
It rung hollow and stung in the ears as webs shot out from impossible to comprehend angles and places to wrap around her wrists and ankles.
