Unless he is. Did that mean he was? This is all becoming increasingly worrying.

“I mean—look. I was just—“

…except he really did make a choice there, didn’t he?

Something called to him and he called back.

Crap.

“It was a one and done thing. That’s all. I’m not interested in doing it again.”

Unless he has to, of course. He’s never really gonna promise he’d never do it again, because what if to save people he had to do it again? He’d make that choice, every time.

If an Entity strolled up to him right now and offered him something for his soul, he’d probably take it. Not out of greed but out of a need for it, if it was necessary to win.

“Besides, if I really was? Do you think I’d tell you?”
