Ronon was always much better at this than he was, especially in the woods, but the Hunt gives him an edge, and he notices things like that he might ordinarily not have before.
He sees the sweater off to the side. From the skill he’s seen, he suspects it might be a decoy. Someone that adept at evading shouldn’t have left it out here. But he wastes the time anyway, maybe because of overconfidence, or the Hunt urging him on. He inspects the sweater for a moment to see if there’s anything of note, then moves on.
