As someone who does most of her own cooking, Eda recognizes that the sourdough starter smells like, well, sourdough starter. But also like... the concept of sadness somehow?
Given that last bit, she wonders if there's any chance it's literal in another sense, that whatever's going on started in there.
But then again, why is she bothering to try and figure it out? Why is she bothering with any of this? She's so tired.
And then the man burns himself and it snaps her back to the moment, concerned. She puts down the container and moves back towards the ovens... which start to nag. She can guess what just happened.
"Focus on... people you care about. That sort of thing," she tells Methos. After that she starts trying to turn off some ovens herself, doing her best not to look at any of them more than she has to.
