What's Jeff performing? Why, nothing more than a tongue-in-cheek rock cover of When I Grow Up. Guitar-heavy (of course), with a playful infusion of psychedelia, it's like... Hendrix doing Dylan, only with Jeff as Jimi Hendrix, and the Pussycat Dolls as Bob Dylan.

Whether or not Gil knows the song (hey, Jeff didn't even know it until he binged the hits of the last 25 years, in an attempt to get caught up on everything he missed), he should be able to appreciate the lyrics. They fit Jeff, don't they? The sad boy who wanted fame and attention and who'd do anything to be in the center of it all--

Jeff performs, seemingly lost in the song, and there's not even anyone else around, and he doesn't seem to have noticed Gil yet, so is it just for his own gratification? The love of the music, and nothing more?

Oh. No. He knows he's got an audience. He notices Gil, seemingly for the first time, and winks.

"But be careful what you wish for, 'cause you just might get it."
