Volunteering to try and lure Katie into the light was something Manji wasn't interested in at first. Did she need to be stopped? Yes, but his own imprisonment back home was still sitting uneasily in his mind. He didn't really like the idea of locking someone away for eternity. He was still relatively new to the immortal life and the idea of being left in a box for endless centuries puts a cold spot in the pit of his stomach.
In the end he agrees to it. Probably better an immortal man than someone who could be torn to shreds go out to play bait. Plus, it gives him an excuse to go seek out some more information that doesn't come directly from ADI without hopefully raising too much suspicion as to why he was seeking someone out. Manji hasn't yet fully decided if he's actually going to try and lead Katie to the trap just yet.
Maybe Katie will have heard of the one armed immortal man who got back up after being hit by a car while trapped in a nightmare. Maybe she hasn't. Manji isn't expecting to be a known person to her as he walks with a candle in his hand. Feeling more comfortable with that than the flashlight he has hidden in the pocket of the winter jacket he's wearing.
"You out here Shadow Bitch?" He calls out with amusement in his voice. Unsure how this interaction will go he can't help but be excited by it. Maybe she'll find a way to kill him for good, maybe he'll go mad, or maybe he'll get answers to questions he's got. Either way it was going to be better than staying stagnate. "Got some questions for ya!"
