"That entire statement is wrong," her tone is not one of admonishment. "You are my friend whether you like or not." There is fondness in her voice. He does add value to her life besides in just being her roommate and friend. He is teaching her valuable skills such as how to not fall on her ass and how to get up quickly. She is learning to defend herself.
