There's a visible flinch, which says probably as much as the answer does: "It's not my name." Which isn't entirely true, but it's close enough. He's chosen his name, now, it's not something some random person just decided was his. It doesn't make him panic and lash out to hear. It doesn't remind him of the stupid former target or getting punished or of memories that don't apply to him anymore.
