"Them." He hesitates, flailing internally for a moment, then pushes out, "My handlers. HYDRA." Yes, he knows they're not here. No, that doesn't seem to help much in changing his behaviors. No, he hasn't really questioned why, or tried very hard, in most of those behaviors. It's just the way it is.
