[ if keith had his way, his face and therefore his expression would be kept inscrutable. shiro doesn't let him have that though, and every word just adds more to the weight bearing down on keith's chest. he doesn't want to have another scene in public, but piece by piece shiro rips off his armor leaving keith feeling.... dizzier? warmer?

it's an entire clusterfuck that's being spewed out at him. messy, contradictory, selfish and confusing and keith's head hurts entirely too much to properly tease any of that out. it doesn't stop that strange beatbeatbeat rhythm of his heart though, beating hard and fast the way it does right before he's about to do something stupid.

they're best friends. and even though he doesn't know a whole lot about friendship and lines and rules, he's still pretty sure this isn't what best friends do. the thought sits uncomfortably in his head until keith kicks it out. ]

I don't want to find anyone else. [ it's said quiet and soft, though there's a determined look in his eyes that doesn't match. ] I'll miss you.
