Malcolm's head whips around at the sound of Gil's voice and a kelpie just misses him with a swipe of its hand.

"I'm here!"

The next kelpie to attack Malcolm grabbed his oar. It took him by surprise but he held onto it and it swung him around into the wall of the cave.
